Tarek El Moussa and Christina El Moussa had a chance to be financially bankrupted after the stock market crash in 2008. From a $6,000-per-month home, up to a condo that cost $700 per month. HGTV as well as Rise to Fame In 2011 Tarek requested a colleague to help him make an HGTV audition tape that showed him and Christina turning a house beginning to end. Pie Town Productions, a production company in New York City, got the tape. They were enthralled by Christina and Tarek's love story. The agreement was agreed by the couple and HGTV. The program "Flip of Flop", premiered on April 13, 2013. Between 2013 and 2017, the series was broadcast in 92 episodes. The series featured Christina and Tarek purchasing homes in Orange County.
